  • Training from Marlow Sports Club
    Group runs are limited to 15 members per Run Leader and will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Options are below and will be confirmed on the night from our Run Leaders. All sessions start at MSC at 19:00, unless otherwise stated.

    Wearing high-visibility clothing and using head torches is compulsory.

    Easy Striders (ES)
    - No stress pace for all | 3 to 4 miles | 11:30 to 12:00+ min/mi 

    Easy Plus Striders (ES+)
    - Improvers group | 4 to 5 miles | 10:30 to 11:15 min/mi

    Breezy Striders (BS)
    - Chit-chat intermediate group | 6 miles | 9:30 to 10:15 min/mi

    Breezy Plus Striders (BS+)
    - Bridging the gap to Speedy Striders | 6-7 miles | 8:30 to 9:15 min/mi

    Speedy Striders (SS)
    - Chasing that high speed | 6-7 miles | 8min/mi or below

    Begintervals
    - Interval sessions suitable for all. They are designed primarily for people new to running and are designed for anyone who can run 5km at any pace. Each week we look at a different type of interval training, including fartlec, short intervals, long intervals, and hills. The sessions are inclusive, so anyone can take part, if you are slower, you may do less reps, if you are faster you may do more.

    Sun, 9th Feb: 7 Hills of Flackwell, led by Patrick - 14mi run with 7 hills (clue's in the name). Option to bolt-on (or off) extra distance

    Good Grizzly training for anyone in slower pace. 
    Easy pace. Option of 4 miles or 8 miles (2 loops if you want to do 8 miles)

    Car sharing is essential as the school has limited car parking. Please don’t use the car park opposite the event start as this will be needed for event support and most importantly the first aid vehicle. It is also open to the public. 
    We will be asking for a £2 donation for our charity this year which is Berkshire Lowland Search and Rescue. This would be gratefully received thank you. 
    Porta toilets and urinals will be available in the school car park on route to the run location.
    The walk from the school to the run location takes about 15 minutes, please allow yourselves time for this. The route will be signed. 
    Please take care crossing the main Bramshill Road as it is fast and busy.
    Team camps to be located near to the W3W above, please don’t block the initial access road as this will be needed in the case of an emergency. 
    Course & Map See map here. Total distance approx. 9.3km with 73m elevation gain, on a mixture of hard & soft trails through woodlands. THIS COURSE IS AMENDED FROM 2024.

    Finishing tokens will be handed out to ALL finishers - please return these to TVT. 
    ALL runners will take a token and must be attached to a participating club whether through membership or being a guest. This is imperative for insurance purposes.  
    Food and hot drinks will be provided at the school after. We do have an indoor space for food, but please be considerate with your muddy footwear. NO MUDDY TRAINERS IN THE DINING AREA PLEASE. Please bring your own plates and cups and food is consumed at your own risk. 
    There will be first aiders in attendance, who will be able to access the majority of the course by vehicle. If you need assistance please find the closest marshal and ask.  
    Dogs - Well-behaved dogs are welcome to spectate however must be on a lead at all times. 
    This event and route been approved by the Forestry Commission and we must abide by their rules. Please stick to the course route to avoid jeopardising  forest regeneration and to avoid ground nesting birds. 
    Please be considerate to members of the public (including horses and riders) who will also have access to this course. Inappropriate and inconsiderate behaviour will not be tolerated. 
    Anyone seen to wear headphones will be disqualified.
